Preheat your oven to 180°C. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss well to ensure the apples are evenly coated. Transfer the apple mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

In another mixing bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, light brown sugar, Dr. Oetker Vanilla Sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well. Add the cold, diced butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the apple filling in the baking dish. Make sure to cover the apples completely to create a nice, even layer.
